Prof & Head, Dept. Of Civil Engineering
Dr. Satish Kumar Moparthi is a Professor and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at Kallam Haranadha Reddy Institute of Technology (KHIT), Guntur, with over 20 years of academic, research, and industry experience. He holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering with Remote Sensing and GIS along with an M.Tech in Environmental Management & Technology and additional qualifications in Industrial Safety.
Dr. Moparthi has published over 90+ international journal papers (SCI, SCOPUS, Web of Science, UGC-approved), authored textbooks in Environmental Engineering and Irrigation Engineering, and holds 9 patents in areas spanning environmental monitoring, sustainable construction, and smart technologies. His research focuses on irrigation and drainage system design, remote sensing & GIS applications, water resource engineering, and environmental impact assessment.
As a Principal Investigator of projects funded by DST-SERB and co-investigator in UGC research initiatives, he has contributed significantly to advancing sustainable civil engineering practices. He is also an NPTEL Discipline Star and Motivated Learner awardee in Civil Engineering from IIT Madras (2024), and recipient of multiple Best Faculty Awards.
In the Department of Civil Engineering, KHIT, he has been instrumental in achieving NBA accreditation, autonomous status, and recognition as a research centre, while also serving as Program Coordinator for NBA, NAAC, and other institutional initiatives.
Beyond teaching and research, he actively mentors B.Tech and M.Tech students, organizes national-level seminars, FDPs, and technical fests, and serves as a resource person and keynote speaker at academic forums.
His vision is to integrate innovation, sustainability, and technology into civil engineering education and research, contributing to both academia and society.
