About the Department
The Department of Information Technology was established in 2010, offering a B. Tech program with an initial intake of 60 students. The intake was increased to 120 students in 2013, and from 2022, the department offers an additional intake of 30 students. The program is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge needed to realize their professional goals and aspirations in the field of Information Technology.
The department provides students with access to a variety of specialized laboratories that cater to academic, research, and practical requirements. These labs include the Networking Lab, Database Management Systems Lab, Cloud Computing Lab, Internet of Things (IoT) Lab, Software Engineering Lab, Programming Lab, Web Development Lab, Data Science & Analytics Lab, and the Cybersecurity Lab. These state-of-the-art facilities allow students to gain hands-on experience with the latest technologies and software, preparing them for successful careers in the IT industry.
Program Educational Objectives (PEO's)
- Have the fundamental knowledge of mathematics, science, economics and computing and in-depth knowledge in Civil Engineering concepts through theoretical, laboratory and project based experiences so as to design, develop and solve engineering problems.
- Succeed in their chosen engineering careers with sustainable development in their profession and have the ability to pursue advanced degrees in engineering and other fields.
- Have ability to organize and Communicate effectively in multidisciplinary engineering projects through life-long learning, practice ethics with a sense of social responsibility.
